MEATY BONE® BOLD, MEATY ADVENTURE SWEEPSTAKES PROMOTION - OFFICIAL RULES AND REGULATIONS (THE "PROMOTION")

This Promotion is open only to legal residents of the 50 United States and Washington D.C. who are 18 years of age or older at time of entry and have a valid email address. Please do not enter if you are not a legal resident of, and not currently located in, the 50 United States or Washington D.C. at time of entry. VOID OUTSIDE THE 50 UNITED STATES AND WASHINGTON D.C., AND WHERE PROHIBITED BY LAW.

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. A PURCHASE WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCE OF WINNING.
  1. PROMOTION PERIOD: Starting February 1, 2008 at 12:00:00 AM Central Time ("CT") and ending December 1, 2008 at 11:59:59 PM CT (the "Promotion Period").
  2. ELIGIBILITY: To enter and be eligible to win, you must be a legal resident of one of the 50 United States or Washington, D.C., and be 18 years of age or older. Persons in any of the following categories are NOT eligible to participate or win prizes: (a) any person who, at any time on or after February 1, 2008, was or is a director, officer, or employee of Del Monte Corporation (the "Sponsor"), or its parent, subsidiaries, franchisees, affiliates or service agencies; (b) individuals engaged in the development, production or distribution of materials for the Promotion or engaged in the administration or execution of this Promotion (collectively with the entities in (a), the "Promotion Entities"), and (c) persons who are or purport to be immediate family members (defined as biological or step-mother, father, sister, brother, daughter, son or dependent or spouse of any of the foregoing) of any person in any of the preceding categories, regardless of where they live, or (d) individuals who reside in the same household (i.e., live in the same household for at least 3 of the 12 months preceding the start of the Promotion Period, whether related or not) as any person in any of the preceding categories.
  3. HOW TO ENTER: During the Promotion Period, there are two (2) ways to enter:
    1. Online: Enter at www.MeatyBone.com, read and accept these Official Rules and follow the instructions to register. Limit of one registration per person and per email address. If it is discovered that you have registered or attempted to register more than ONCE using one or more names or email addresses, all of your entries will be declared null and void, you will be disqualified and any prize you might have been entitled to will be forfeited. When you return to the site after your initial registration, you will not need to register again, but you will need to log-in. As part of the online entry process, you will be asked to provide a valid non-unique UPC code from any participating "Meaty Bone®" product package. You may obtain a UPC code from any participating "Meaty Bone®" product package by purchasing a "Meaty Bone®" product or by going to a retailer that carries "Meaty Bone®" products and writing down the UPC code.
    2. Mail: Or, to enter for free by mail without obtaining a UPC code, provide a hand-written postcard or piece of paper containing your name, complete address, and phone number (including area code) and mail it in an envelope with proper postage affixed to: "Meaty Bone® Bold, Meaty Adventure Sweepstakes Promotion – Enter by Mail", P.O. Box 1342, South Bend, IN 46624-1342. A limit of one (1) entry per postcard/stamped postmarked outer envelope will be accepted. Mail-in entries that are mechanically reproduced or made in any fashion other than submitting a hand printed request are void. Entry requests must be postmarked by December 1, 2008 and received by December 8, 2008 to be eligible to enter the Promotion. For each eligible entry request, you will receive one (1) entry into the promotion.
    Limit: two (2) entries per person per household per email address per day, regardless of method of entry. If it is discovered that you have entered or attempted to enter more than ONCE per day using one or more names or email addresses, all of your entries will be declared null and void, you will be disqualified and any prize you might have been entitled to will be forfeited.
  4. RANDOM SWEEPSTAKES DRAW: On or about December 12, 2008, at approximately 2:00 PM CT, an independent judging organization (the "Promotion Judges") will first randomly draw one (1) entry to determine the potential Grand Prize winner from among all eligible entries received; subsequently, the Promotion Judges will randomly draw one (1) entry to determine the potential First Prize winner, and then three (3) entries to determine the potential Second Prize winners; and then twenty five (25) entries to determine the potential T-Shirt prize winners (collectively, the "Potential Winners"). Decisions made by the Promotion Judges are final and binding in all matters relating to the drawing. The odds of winning depend on the total number of eligible entries received. Potential Winners will be eligible to win the applicable Sweepstakes Prizes (as described below), subject to verification of eligibility and compliance with the terms of these Official Rules.
  5. SWEEPSTAKES PRIZES:
    1. (1) Sweepstakes Grand Prize: one (1) 2008 Dodge®* RAM 1500, 5.7 Liter V8 Engine, Quad Cab, including customized Meaty Bone® decals and a Ryan Newman Signature decal (the "Vehicle"), and one (1) year supply of Meaty Bone® Dog Biscuits, which will be awarded as twelve (12) coupons, (1 per month), redeemable for one (1) 22.5 oz product package with a maximum value of $4.00 per coupon. Manufacturer Suggested Retail value (ARV): $50,048.00. Vehicle will be delivered to the Delivery Location (defined below) with features and accessories as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion; any upgrades and options in addition to the features and accessories determined by Sponsor may be added by the Grand Prize Winner after the Vehicle is delivered to the Grand Prize Winner at the sole expense of the Grand Prize Winner. Color, package, factory options, and other prize specifics shall be determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion, and are subject to availability. Grand Prize Winner must have proof of a valid U.S. driver’s license from his or her state of residence, and proof of minimum auto insurance required by his/her state of residence to take delivery of the Vehicle; failure to show same may result in prize forfeiture. Grand Prize Winner will be responsible for all optional equipment, if any, title, license, insurance and registration fees required in claiming the Vehicle. All applicable federal, state and local taxes as well as any other costs and expenses relating to the receipt and use of the Vehicle, including but not limited to sales and income taxes, and any travel and transportation costs associated with collecting the Vehicle from the Delivery Location, not provided herein as being awarded will be the responsibility of Grand Prize Winner. Grand Prize Winner will be provided instructions to obtain the Vehicle at a dealership within a reasonable distance from the winner’s residence, to be determined by Sponsor (the "Delivery Location"). Grand Prize Winner must take delivery of Vehicle within 30 days of receiving notification that dealership has received the Vehicle. As a model year progresses, changes may occur in some of the specifications, features, optional equipment and pricing. The manufacturer reserves the right to make such changes. Optional equipment may vary by region. Delivery of the Vehicle is subject to manufacturer, distributor and dealer manufacturing, production and delivery schedules.
    2. (1) Sweepstakes First Prize: one (1) Ranger Boats®** fishing boat (the "Boat") with fishing accessories package, which includes G-Loomis® Fishing Pole, a tackle box and miscellaneous accessories, and one (1) year supply of Meaty Bone® Dog Biscuits, which will be awarded as twelve (12) coupons, (1 per month), redeemable for one (1) 22.5 oz product package with a maximum value of $4.00 per coupon. ARV: $40,048.00. Boat will be delivered to the Delivery Location (defined below) with features and accessories as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion; any upgrades and options in addition to the features and accessories determined by Sponsor may be added by the First Prize Winner after the Vehicle is delivered to the First Prize Winner at the sole expense of the First Prize Winner. Color, package, factory options, and other prize specifics shall be determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion, and are subject to availability. First Prize Winner will be responsible for all optional equipment, title, license, insurance and registration fees required in claiming the Boat. All applicable Federal, state and local taxes as well as any other costs and expenses relating to the receipt and use of the Boat, including but not limited to sales and income taxes, and any travel and transportation costs associated with collecting the Boat from the Delivery Location and docking and fuel costs, not provided herein as being awarded will be the responsibility of First Prize Winner. First Prize Winner will be provided instructions to obtain the Boat at a dealership to be determined by Sponsor (the "Delivery Location"). First Prize Winner must take delivery of Boat within 30 days of receiving notification that dealership has received the Boat. As a model year progresses, changes may occur in some of the specifications, features, optional equipment and pricing. The manufacturer reserves the right to make such changes. Optional equipment may vary by region. Delivery of the Boat is subject to manufacturer, distributor and dealer manufacturing, production and delivery schedules.
    3. (3) Sweepstakes Second Prizes: one (1) Camping Gear Package, each consisting of a tent, a Charcoal grill, two (2) sleeping bags, and a cooler, and one (1) year supply of Meaty Bone® Dog Biscuits, which will be awarded as twelve (12) coupons, (1 per month), redeemable for one (1) 22.5 oz product package with a maximum value of $4.00 per coupon. ARV of each package: $1,548.00.
    4. (25) T-Shirt Prizes: one (1) T-Shirt with the Meaty Bone® logo, individual ARV: $5.00.
    Approximate retail value of all prizes available to be won: $94,865.00. Winners acknowledge that Promotion Entities have neither made nor are in any manner responsible or liable for any warranty, representation, or guarantee, express or implied, in fact or in law, relative to any prize, including but not limited to its quality, mechanical condition or fitness for a particular purpose. Any and all warranties and/or guarantees on a prize (if any) are subject to the respective manufacturers’ terms therefore, and winners agree to look solely to such manufacturers for any such warranty and/or guarantee. All prize details, including manufacturer and model, are at Sponsor’s sole discretion.
  6. HOW TO CLAIM YOUR PRIZE: All prizes with a value of $599.00 or less will be mailed to the winner’s address as provided in the registration form or mail-in entry following completion of the winner verification process. Potential winners of prizes with a value of $600.00 or more will be contacted by phone or mail with instructions on how to claim the prize. If any prize is won by a person who is at least 18 but is considered a minor in his/her state of residence, such prize may, at Sponsor’s discretion, be awarded to a parent or legal guardian who must sign and return all required documentation outlined herein and otherwise comply with all requirements imposed on the applicable Winner set forth herein. If a Potential Winner is found to be ineligible, declines to accept the prize, or Sponsor is unable to contact such Potential Winner within a reasonable period, or in the event that a prize notification or a prize is returned undeliverable, such prize will be forfeited and, at the Sponsor’s sole discretion, prize may be awarded to an alternate Winner. Potential Winners of prizes with a value of $600 or more: (or parent/legal guardian where applicable) may be required to furnish proof of identification (to Sponsor’s satisfaction) or the prize will be forfeited and, at Sponsor’s discretion, awarded to an alternate Winner. Before being declared a Winner, Potential Winners (or parent/legal guardian where applicable) will be required to execute and return an Affidavit of Eligibility/Liability & Publicity Release (unless prohibited) within seven (7) business days from the time it is postmarked as having been sent by the Sponsor or its representative, or the prize will be forfeited and, at Sponsor’s discretion, awarded to an alternate Winner. Potential Winners must also complete, sign and return a W-9 form within the same time period or the prize will be forfeited and, at Sponsor’s discretion, awarded to an alternate Winner. Allow 6 to 14 weeks for completion of the winner verification process and shipment of prize after completion of the verification process. Promotion Entities shall not be held responsible for any delays in awarding the prize for any reason outside of their control. By accepting a prize, each Winner consents to the use of his/her name, address (city and state of residence), voice, and statements relating to the Promotion or Sponsor, and photographs or other likenesses, without further compensation, notification or permission in any publicity or advertising carried out by Sponsor or any related entities in any and all media now known or hereinafter developed without territorial or time limitation, except where prohibited by law.

    7. CONDITIONS OF ENTRY:

  7. By entering, entrants (i) acknowledge compliance with these Official Rules including all eligibility requirements and, (ii) agree to be bound by the decisions of the Sponsor and/or Promotion Judges, made in their sole discretion, which shall be final and binding in all matters relating to this Promotion. Entrants who have not complied with these Official Rules are subject to disqualification and all associated entries will be void.
  8. Promotion Entities a re not responsible for late, lost, damaged, stolen, misdirected, mutilated, garbled, illegible, delayed, inaccurate, incomplete or postage-due mail, registrations, UPCs, entries or prize claims. Proof of transmission (screenshots or captures, etc.) and/or mailing does not constitute proof of delivery. All entries/registrations and entries become the property of Sponsor and in no case shall be returned to sender.
  9. The Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify any entrant’s registration in the Promotion (and void all associated entries) or entitlement to the prize, if, in the sole discretion of the Sponsor, it determines or suspects that the entrant has attempted to undermine the legitimate operation of the Promotion by cheating, hacking, deception, or other fraudulent, deceptive or unfair playing practices (including any entries generated by script, macro, robotic, programmed, or any other automated means).
  10. If a dispute arises regarding who submitted a registration or entry, the registration or entry will be deemed to be submitted by the authorized account holder of the email address provided at time of registration and he/she must be eligible according to these rules. Authorized account holder is defined as the natural person who is assigned to an email address by an Internet access provider, online service provider, or other organization responsible for assigning email addresses for the domain associated with the submitted email address.
  11. As a condition of entering, entrants agree (and agree to confirm in writing): (a) to release Promotion Entities from any and all liability, loss or damage incurred with respect to participating in the Promotion or the awarding, receipt, possession, and/or use or misuse of the prizes (including any injury or harm resulting from use of the Vehicle or boat), (b) that under no circumstances will entrants be permitted to obtain award for, and entrants hereby waive all rights to claim punitive, incidental, consequential, or any other damages, other than for actual out-of-pocket expenses; (c) all causes of action arising out of or connected with this Promotion, or the prizes awarded, shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action; and (d) any and all claims, judgments, and awards shall be limited to actual out-of-pocket costs incurred, and in no event will entrants be entitled to receive attorneys’ fees or other court costs.

    12. PROMOTION OPERATION:

Sponsor reserves the right in its sole discretion to cancel, modify or suspend this promotion at any time if fraud, technical failures, including any network server or hardware failure, viruses, bugs, errors in programming, or any other errors or other causes corrupt the administration, security, integrity or proper play of the Promotion. If terminated, Sponsor may, at its discretion, conduct a random drawing to award prizes from among all non-suspect, eligible entries received up to time of such action.
  13. Promotion Entities do not warrant that access to the Promotion will be uninterrupted. Promotion Entities are not responsible for any problems that may arise, including but not limited to: (a) lost, interrupted, inaccessible or unavailable networks, servers, satellites, Internet Service Providers, Web sites, or other connection, availability or accessibility problems arising in connection with or over the course of the Promotion; or (b) communications failed, jumbled, scrambled, delayed, or misdirected computer, telephone or cable transmissions or hardware or software malfunctions, failures or difficulties; or (c) failure of personal computers and/or software and hardware configurations, any technical malfunctions, failures, or difficulties, printing errors, clerical, typographical or other error in the offering or announcement of any prize or in any prize notification documents or any other Promotion-related materials; or (d) for any other errors of any kind relating to or in connection with the Promotion, whether human, mechanical, clerical, electronic, or technical in nature including, but not limited to, errors which may occur in connection with the administration of the Promotion or the processing of registrations or entries, the announcement of the prizes or in any other Promotion-related materials; or (e) the incorrect or inaccurate capture of information, or the failure to capture any information in connection with the Promotion; or (f) damage to a user's system occasioned by participation in this Promotion or downloading any information necessary to participate in this Promotion.

    14. DISCLOSURES:

  14. Any attempt by an entrant or other individual, to deliberately damage any website or undermine the legitimate operation of this Promotion, including but not limited to any fraudulent claims, is a violation of criminal and civil laws. Should such an attempt be made, Sponsor reserves the right to seek remedies and damages from any such individual, to the fullest extent permitted by law, including criminal prosecution. Entrant engaging in any of the foregoing activities may be disqualified and will forfeit any prize(s) won.
  15. If a dispute arises relating to a prize won, the resolution of the dispute shall remain within the sole discretion of Sponsor.
  16. Prizes pictured in point of sale, television and print advertising, promotional packaging, and other Promotion media ("Promotion Materials") are for illustrative purposes only. Actual prize(s) may vary from the prize(s) pictured. In the event of any conflict with any promotion details contained in these Official Rules and promotion details contained in Promotion Materials, the details of the promotion set forth in these Official Rules shall prevail. The approximate retail values ("ARV") of prizes as stated by Sponsor in the Promotion Materials and/or in these Official Rules are subject to price fluctuations in the consumer marketplace. If, at the time a prize is redeemed or awarded, the actual prevailing retail purchase price for the prize is less than the ARV stated by the Sponsor in Promotion Materials, and/or in these Official Rules, the prize winner will not be entitled to a check or cash for the price difference.
  17. All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Official Rules, or the rights and obligations of entrant and Sponsor in connection with the Promotion, shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the substantive laws of the State of California without regard to California conflicts of law principles. All entrants consent to the jurisdiction and venue of the State of California.
  18. The invalidity or unenforceability of any provision of these Official Rules shall not affect the validity or enforceability of any other provision. In the event that any provision is determined to be invalid or otherwise unenforceable or illegal, these Official Rules shall otherwise remain in effect and shall be construed in accordance with their terms as if the invalid or illegal provision were not contained herein. In particular, Sponsor’s employees are not authorized to waive, modify or amend any provision or provisions of these Official Rules in any manner whatsoever.
  19. This Promotion is solely sponsored by Del Monte Corporation, One Market @ The Landmark, San Francisco, California, 94105.
